Guild Introduction

Thank you for your interest in Old Guard!

First, I'd like to cut to the chase and state a few requirements up front. I don't intend to waste anyone's time, so I feel it's best to get through a few formalities first and we can do the whole get-ta-know-ya bit later.

The following is a list of some of the requirements that we expect from new Guild and/or Raid Members.

---Cooperative Attitude: We're pushing content that is new to most people in the raid. We learn from our mistakes and try again. We work as a team and expect our raid members to be constructive, take criticism well, and be willing to make changes for the good of the raid.

---Maturity: We expect raid times to be about raiding, not clogging up the vent server with jokes, comments, burns, rips, flames or off-topic conversation. Raid times are for people dedicated to progression. You can laugh and joke around on vent any other time; raid time is limited, please respect the group.

---Contribution: A raid group consists of people who are willing to put the time in to farm consumables (and help others do the same if necessary), read boss strategies, update raid-related mods and be prepared BEFORE raid invites begin. If you find our raid times difficult to meet, you may want to look at raiding with another guild. We would rather cancel a raid than keep all of our responsible members standing around in front of an instance. Let's not waste each others time. For some, it takes a lot of sacrifice to be a member of the raid and time spent waiting for people to show up is time wasted from work, sleep, etc...

---Attunement: When an instance requires some sort of attunement, we expect ALL raid members to get working on these quests and push them as far as current progression allows and to get them done as soon as possible. There's nothing worse than having to go backwards because some people didn't have the foresight to be prepared when the opportunity was there.

---Willingness to change: We may require, at times, for a raid member to respec or ask them to do something outside of their ordinary comfort-zone in a raid. These requests are usually made based on raid balance or strategy. Once you have been accepted to the raid group, however, you will be expected to show up with the talent spec that you were initially invited with unless a Raid or Class Leader approves a change to your raid spec.

---Mods: We have required mods (Mostly Ace2 compliant) as do most serious raid groups. You will be expected to have the required mods.

Please accept my most sincere apologies if this sounded harsh in any way. The simple fact is, Old Guard has been around a very long time (we may actually be the oldest active raiding guild on the server at this time) and we've seen and heard about every excuse there is when it comes to under-performing in the raid environment. If you are accepted into the guild/raid, then you can expect that the same level of scrutiny has been given to everyone in the group. This will hopefully make the raiding experience much more rewarding than if we weren't up-front with people about our expectations when they apply to become members.

I sincerely hope you've made it this far and feel like you can be a strong contributor to the Old Guard raids. If so, please take the time to write a few responses so we can get to know you better.
